What is this blog about?

Biomed.blog.com is a platform for current topics of interest to the biotech and medical device industries. Issues are discussed from the point of view of innovations and patent protections. Innovation by itself is not enough to ensure a successful product. The biotech and medtech industries would not have existed if not for patent protection. This blog will be of interest to product development managers, engineers, scientists and patent lawyers. This forum provides a general discourse and discussion in issues related to Freedom to Operate and Propriety Positions.

The blog will be updated by Casey Chan MD, Adjunct Professor at the Department of Orthopedic Surgery and the Division of Bioengineering at the National University of Singapore.
